No driver wants to be involved in an accident. Not only are road traffic accidents traumatic and can cause severe injuries, but they can be a nightmare to sort out. As well as ensuring that you receive the right treatment, there is also the problem of sorting out a courtesy car and also launching personal injury claims.
It’s not a pleasant experience and that is why the council in one area is spending money on tackling three of their most dangerous accident blackspots. The council in Keighley, is spending money to reduce the number of accidents in certain areas. In the last three years, eight people have been killed and more than 400 injured at the accident spots that they are tackling.
It has not yet been officially decided where the money will be spent but 13 areas have been suggested so far following a study of the accident records from 21 accident hotspots.
Between 2008 and 2009, there had been a 34 per cent reduction in deaths and serious injuries in the area but the council are still concerned about the number of children being injured on the roads.
