It’s not a pleasant experience, going into hospital. Most people try to avoid it wherever possible. But there are times in which people who are suffering are happy to go into hospital as they are relieved to be receiving medical attention. These people will go to hospital hoping that their medical problems will be dealt with and resolved and they assume that they will be in better health once they get out of hospital.
However, this sadly is not always true and there are some occasions in which the patient will come out of hospital actually worse off than when they went in. And this is due to the fact that medical staff will sometimes make mistakes. Some of these mistakes will occur because of careless behaviour and negligence and this is when patients will make a personal injury claim.
There have been thousands of cases of medical negligence over the years, from cancer patients being misdiagnosed, to delays in caesareans being given to women giving birth. One delay or wrong decision can have a massive impact on patients.
In cases such as these, the patients will make a personal injury claim as a way of helping them recover from the pain and suffering caused.
