It’s a horrible experience to be involved in a car accident. All in just a few second, everything changes and suddenly your day, your week and possibly even your life is ruined.
Some people manage to get away with just minor damage to their cars but others will suffer serious injury as a result of a car accident and these can sometimes be fatal.
For those who are not involved in accidents as serious as this, they may like to gather together some information in order to make it easier to make a personal injury claim, should they need to.
If anyone is injured, the most important thing to do is to ensure that the right medical attention is sought, but once this is done, the following information should be collected.
• the name of the other driver
• the registration plate of the other car
• address and telephone number of the other driver
• their insurance details
• the name and contact details of any witnesses to the accident.
If you can, make a note of the circumstances of the crash, while it’s fresh in your mind.
